Moldovan judoka Denis Vieru ranked fifth at The Hague Grand Prix 2018. He scored three victories, but then suffered two defeats in the 66 kg weight class, IPN reports.
Vieru beat Belgium’s Van Gansbeke, Mongolia’s Davaadorj and Seidl of Germany. In the semifinals, the Moldovan athlete lost to the future winner Vazha Margvelashvili of Georgia and then lost the match for the bronze medal to Japan’s Kiyotaka Kido.
Dorin Goțonoagă, Nicon Zaboroshchuk and Victor Sterpu will also compete in The Hague Grand Prix 2018.
