The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) suggests a legislative initiative that regulates seasonal work. The PDM’s spokesman Vitalie Gamurari, after the traditional Tuesday meeting of the party’s administration, said the bill provides that the employer and the employee will not sign a classical work contract, but the services provided by the employee will be included in a special register that will ensure the health and social insurance of the worker, IPN reports.

Vitalie Gamurari said the employer will be obliged to ensure legal working conditions for each employee and the practice of paying salaries “in envelope” will be thus reduced. The bill drafted by the PDM ensures greater transparency in seasonal activities and contributes to fighting illegal labor and reducing undeclared incomes.

The leadership of the PDM also discussed the draft state budget law for 2018 that was agreed with representatives of the International Monetary Fund. In this connection, Vitalie Gamurari said the initiatives to repair roads, to ensure energy security and those related to the social sphere are among the priorities of the next year’s budget.
