Demnitate movement to back Democrats in 2009 race

Social-political movement Demnitate will (Dignity) back the Democratic Party (PDM) in the parliamentary race. “We will support the PDM, because it's a party consistently promoting the equality of chances, stimulating the employment of women, modifying the ratio of involving women in certain economic areas,” Ana Bologan, the president of the movement, told a news conference Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. She says she wanted to register her organization with the Justice Ministry, but had insifficient signatures, and leave this to be done after the elections. “We have offered our support to several parties, but only the PDM showed openness for cooperation. After the elections we'll continue to work actively,” Ana Bologan said. No Demnitate member is on the PDM list of candidates for the Parliament. The movement says it has over 5,000 members all over the country.
