Moldova's Declaration of Independence will be probably kept at the National Museum of Archeology and History. The head of the Association “Parlamentul 90” Pantelei Sandulachi, who was a member of the first Parliament of Moldova, told Info-Prim Neo that if the Declaration had been stored at the museum earlier, it wouldn't have burned during the April 7, 2009 protests. Recently, Moldova's Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said that he ordered purchasing a special safe where the Declaration of Independence will be kept and protected from fire. “The National Museum of Archeology and History can keep the document in special conditions so that the visitors are able to read the names of the signatories,” Pantelei Sandulachi said. He also said that there will be made authorized copies of the Declaration of Independence and distributed to every MP. The Declaration of Independence was adopted on August 27, 1991. The original burned during the April 7, 2009 events. One year later, on April 26, the Declaration was restored at a solemn sitting of the Parliament. It was signed again by the living members of the first legislative body. The signatures of the late ones were scanned.
