Next week will be decisive for overcoming the situated created at Moldova-Agroindbank, said Prime Minister designate Iurie Leanca, asking that all the responsible institutions should become involved, IPN reports.
“Moldova-Agroinbank is an important bank for Moldova’s banking sector. We must cooperate so as to prevent the whole system from becoming vulnerable,” said Leanca.
In a meeting of the technical subcommittee of the National Financial Stability Committee on May 28, it was decided that the Ministry of Finance will immediately draft a bill with amendments to the legislation so as to increase transparency in the activity of bank shareholders and impose tougher regulations on the stockholders of the banks that form the banking system. A new meeting will take place next week.
In a communiqué earlier, the bank’s Board informed that since this February Moldova-Agroindbank, its administrative bodies and shareholders have been the target for new fraudulent acts by a group of persons who act concertedly.
