The Balti Appeals Court on July 9 pronounced on the request to recount the votes cast for the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). The court quashed the Chisinau Centru Court’s decision to recount the votes for the CMC and issued a new decision by which the Party of Socialists’ application was rejected.
Also, the appeal of the Chisinau District Electoral Council was accepted and the case concerning the validation of the election outcome was sent back to the Centru Court for examination.
Contacted by phone by IPN’s reporter, secretary of the Chisinau District Electoral Council Viorica Cobzarenko said they expect that the case will be examined by the Centru Court next week and that a relevant decision will be taken then.
