The decision on the abolition of the visa regime between the EU and Moldova was signed and was submitted for publication. It will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union on April 8 and will take effect exactly in 20 days – on April 28, IPN reports, quoting an informative note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The liberalized visa regime with the European Union for Moldovans will be applied in the EU member states, except for the UK, and in four Schengen Area member states that are outside the EU, namely Liechtenstein, Island, Norway, and Switzerland.
The Moldovans holding biometric passports will be able to travel in the EU for at most 90 days during half year. Those who will not obey these rules will be fined up to 3,000 lei or will be banned from entering the EU for a period.
