Debt owed to Termocom at 650m lei

Consumers owe to Chisinau's heat and hot water distributor Termocom SA some 665 million lei for bills left unpaid; the municipality's debt constitutes 217 million lei, the distributor said in a press release. Termocom warns that its suppliers could limit or even halt supplies due the large debts which Termocom cannot handle because of the unpaid bills. If the bills are not paid on time, Termocom reserves itself the right to resort to court for financial redress, including pecuniary damages. From the beginning of the year, courts have issued 6,373 writs to enforce payment of bills overdue worth 34.1 million lei.
