The nongovernmental organization “Debra Moldova” invites the public to the tenth charity concert aimed at supporting the people with epidermolysis bullosa (EB), which is also called the ‘butterfly disease’. The proceeds will be used to purchase drugs and dressings, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the association, the event will take place on May 25 and 26 in the Chisinau park “Dendrariu”, starting at 1pm. The concert will involve such national singers as Boris Covali, Cristina Croitoru, Karizma, Guz, Olia Tira, SunStroke Projekt, and Denis Latyshev as well as folk and sports dances ensembles. There will be staged light games, body art for children and a draw with presents from the sponsors. Among the concert’s partners are Moldovan companies.

“Debra Moldova” is a nongovernmental organization that promotes the interests of persons with EB. Epidermolysis bullosa is a rare inherited skin disease that is characterized by the development of blisters following minimal pressure to the skin. Blistering often appears in infancy in response to simply being held or handled. In rarer forms of the disorder, EB can be life-threatening. There is no cure for the disorder. Treatment focuses on preventing and treating wounds and infection. Until 2011, nobody knew that there are persons with such a disease in Moldova. “Debra Moldova” has 23 members who all suffer form EB.
