The number of deaths caused by the novel coronavirus exceeded 5 million worldwide, according to Worldometers. Also, the number of COVID-19 cases totaled over 223.5 million since counting began, IPN reports.

The U.S. leads with 765,722 deaths associated with COVID-19 and 46.7 million cases of COVID-19. By the number of deaths, the U.S. is followed by Brazil with 607,504 fatalities and also 21.7 million coronavirus cases. India comes third with 457,773 deaths and 34.2 million cases of infection.

Russia recorded over 8.4 million COVID-19 cases and 236,220 associated deaths, while Romania – over 1.6 million coronavirus cases and 46,911 deaths. The other neighbor of Moldova, Ukraine, reported over 2.9 million COVID-19 cases and 67,393 fatalities.

By October 29, Moldova got 335,860 coronavirus cases and a death toll of 7,710. The victims include young people and children.
