Death rate in accidents grows

In Moldova it is increasing the number of deaths in accidents. This statement was made by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Gheorghe Papuc, during a recent meeting of the government.
According to him, along 3 months of this year, the accident rate with deadly results increased to 15.6% to 100 victims, compared to 12.8 of the same period of last years.
The situation is very serious including in the context of increasing number of accidents and persons involved in these up to 64 dead persons and 540 injured.
Internal Minister noted that ensuring a fluid, traffic based on mutual respect of drivers regarding their preparedness and qualification within specialized institutions. Only in 2005, beginner drivers’ provoked 398 accidents, representing 23.5% of the total number made of drivers’ guilty.
In order to improve the situation the policemen propose many solutions, including getting the respect of fastening the seatbelts, hardening the requirements regarding speed regime on republic’ roads and non-admitting drunk driving. A special role, in experts’ vision, could have step-be-step replacing of policemen within the supervision process of road traffic with modern equipment.
Accidents are the №1 cause of death in the world for population under 50.
