The Ministry of Justice will present to the Government three candidates for the post of Moldova's judge at the European Court of Human Rights on July 17, five days behind the initial deadline, Info-Prim Neo reports. The extension has been requested at the Government's meeting on Wednesday by Justice Deputy Minister Vladimir Grosu, who said that the Ministry needed more time to complete all the stages of the selection process. Vladimir Grosu is himself an applicant for the job, alongside lawyer Valeriu Gritco, Legal Resource Center director Vladislav Gribincea, lawyer Vitalie Nagacevschi, lawyer Ilie Rotaru, lawyer Eduard Serbenco, Corruption Prevention Center director Galina Bostan, Constitutional Court assistant judge Veaceslav Zaporojan, and university professor Mihai Buruiana. The post fell vacant after in February the previous holder Mihai Poalelungi was elected president of the Moldovan Supreme Court. The Moldovan Government is due to submit to the CoE Parliamentary Assembly a list of candidates until July 27.
