“Days of Chisinau” in Targoviste come to an end

During several days, cultural institutions from the municipality of Targoviste, Romania, hosted the “Days of Chisinau”. The official inauguration took place within the History Museum of Dambovita, where a documentary about Chisinau was presented and an exhibition including paintings and photos of Chisinau were presented, as well as an exhibition of the Moldovan economic agents. Mayor Iulian Furcoiu declared that the event is very special for Targoviste, in light of the fact that the city hosts such a numerous delegation with such a complex program. In his speech, the interim Mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu welcomed the inhabitants of Targoviste on behalf of Chisinau’s inhabitants and offered to the local authorities an icon with “Stephan the Great”. The theatre “Tony Bulandra” hosted the plays of the Municipal Theatre Satiricus “I.L. Caragiale” from Chisinau and of the Puppet Theatre “Guguta”. The orchestra “Amadeus” and the bands “Trigon” and “Transabalcanica” have also performed. “Days of Chisinau” ended with a national folk music concert presented by the “Folclor” Orchestra and by well-known singers from Chisinau. The local councilors from Targoviste expressed their hope that “The Days of Chisinau” will become a good tradition and that this event will be organized every year. The councilor Marian Diculescu said that he was very impressed by the cultural presentations – theater, pop music, folk music, romances and the sensibility expressed by the artists from Chisinau, opinion which is also shared by the inhabitants of Tragoviste. The delegation from Chisinau was composed of 150 persons. For the organization of “Days of Chisinau” in Tragoviste, the Chisinau Municipal Council offered about MDL 328 thousand for transport and artists’ allowances. The municipality of Targoviste covered expenses for meal, accommodation and internal transport. The expenses were covered by the County Council of Dambovita, City Hall of Targoviste and sponsors.
