Over 1,000 children, teachers, instructors and volunteers are expected to take part in the ninth Abracadabra holiday on May 29. They will come to play and create a day of magic for the abandoned children, giving them the right to a happy childhood and a loving family, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from “Amici dei Bambini” Association.
The organizers aim to sensitize the public opinion as regards the situation of the children in boarding schools, giving the people the possibility of meeting them in a context different from that of the childcare institution. Everyone is welcome at the holiday whose slogan is “A family for every child”, starting at 12 noon.
The program of the event includes a music performance involving children’s artistic groups and such national artists as Georgeta Voinovan and Adrian Ursu, and the bands Catharsis and Zbant, creative workshops, face-painting, modeling of balloons organized by the volunteer-animators of the Association “Children’s Friends”.
The holiday’s Magic Moment will take place at 2pm – a cascade of colorful balloons carrying the holiday’s message will be released into the shopping center so that every guest can take home a nice memory of the event, but also realizes that the number of institutionalized children is rather large. Children from all over the world will shout the magic formula “Abracadabra! A Family for Every Child!” at the same hour.
“Abracadabra” is a holiday organized simultaneously in about 20 counties where the international organization “Amici dei Bambini” is present. The cities where “Abracadabra” is held include Chisinau, Moldova; Kiev, Ukraine; Casablanca, Morocco; Plovdiv, Pleven, Bulgaria; Novosibirsk, Russia; La Paz, El Alto, Bolivia; Salvador de Bahia, Santa Luzia, Brazil; Lima, Perù and others.
In Chisinau, the event is organized by “Amici dei Bambini” in partnership with the Association “Children’s Friends”, the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, and Shopping MallDova Center.
