Danut Oprea is the new coach of the national Under 21 team of Moldova. He replaced Igor Ursachi, who tendered his resignation, IPN reports.
Oprea will make his debut in the encounter with the similar national team of Montenegro in Orhei on September 4. The match forms part of the qualifying rounds of the 2017 UEFA European Championship. After three matches played, the national Under 21 team has only one point. Moldova drew at home with Malta and lost away to Belgium and Montenegro.
Danut Oprea also coached the national U-19 team of Moldova and Veris. When he was with Veris, the team played in the final of Moldova’s Cup, losing to FC Tiraspol in the penalty shootout.
