The liberalized visa regime with the European Union from which Moldova benefits is not subject to any risk factors, Daniela Morari, secretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel.
“I don’t think there is any reason for concern. We have the same visa refusal rate and the same unlawful presence rate, of 0.3, 0,5, as in 2014. We have even a lower rate than the countries of Western Balkans, not speaking about Georgia and Ukraine,” stated Daniela Morari.
As to the alternative report on the monitoring and implementation of the Moldova –EU Association Agreement, Iulian Groza, director of the Institute for European Policies and Reforms, said not much progress was made in carrying out the planned measures in the first half of this year and even a particular decline was witnessed compared with last year. “Such a situation is mainly due to the general context concerning the functioning of democratic institutions, the political dialogue and utilization of the assistance offered by the European Union,” he stated.
