Daniel Cataraga wins new title of world champion

Greco-Roman wrestler Daniel Cataraga for the second consecutive year obtained the title of Under 23 world champion. In the final of the 77 kg class, he won against Denmark’s Rajbek Bisultanov 6-0, IPN reports.

At the Under 23 World Wrestling Championships held in Bucharest, Cataraga scored four victories. He beat Bakuri Gogoli of Georgia, Ismail Saidkhasanov of Russia, Renat Iliaz Uulu of Kirgizstan and Sajan Sajan of India.

Another Moldovan wrestler, Alexandru Biciu, lost to Japan’s Katsuaki Endo in the final of the 63 kg class. Before this, he defeated Tynar Sharshenbekov of Kirgizstan, Turabek Tirkashev of Uzbekistan and Mihai Radu Mihuț of Romania.
