Daniel Cataraga contends for new world title

Greco-Roman wrestler Daniel Cataraga qualified for the final of the Under 23 World Wrestling Championships for the second consecutive year, IPN reports.

In Bucharest, he scored four victories in the 77 kg weight class. Cataraga beat Bakuri Gogoli of Georgia, Ismail Saidkhasanov of Russia, Renat Iliaz Uulu of Kirgizstan and Sajan Sajan of India. The Moldovan wrestler will defend his world title in the duel with Denmark’s Rajbek Alvievich Bisultanov.

Another Moldovan wrestler, Alexandru Biciu, reached the final of the 63 kg class. He defeated Tynar Sharshenbekov of Kirgizstan, Turabek Tirkashev of Uzbekistan and Mihai Radu Mihuț of Romania. In the final, Biciu plays Japan’s Katsuaki Endo.
