Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca ordered fencing all the buildings under construction, including the unauthorized ones. At Monday's meeting of the Chisinau services and divisions, he said if a small deviation is identified, the construction authorization and the urbanism certificate will be withdrawn, Info-Prim Neo reports. In order to prevent accidents near building sites and avoid tragic cases, the mayor instructed the relevant authorities to keep the constructions under control, especially the unauthorized ones. “Any deviation or violation of the approved project will lead to the withdrawal of the urbanism certificate and construction authorization,” Chirtoaca said. He asked all the economic entities to fence the building sites. Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said the Chisinau administration identified many unauthorized constructions that will be demolished or legalized. Two plots of land pose an increased danger to the people. “The City Hall did not extend the lease for a plot located on Alba Iulia St as it was in litigation,” Grozavu said. “The dwellers of the neighboring house won the case and the authorities are to stop up the hole on that plot in order to avoid accidents.” The second plot that poses a threat is situated on Traian Blvd. Though the owner of the plot was authorized to erect a building, the persons living in the house nearby are against. The City Hall will oblige the owner to fence the area until the conflict is solved. Several days ago, three children from Malcoci village of Ialoveni district drowned in a hole filled with water that was dug illegally. Two years ago, a child aged 6 was killed when a slab of concrete fell on his house from a neighboring building that was constructed with irregularities.
