Dacia Chisinau have waited 12 years for their first win against Sheriff in the league. They finally managed a 2-1 victory in Tiraspol on August 10, IPN reports.
The man of the match was Montenegrin international Milos Krkotic, who scored a brace. The midfielder broke the deadlock on 13 minutes, from the penalty spot. Sheriff's Marcel Metoua levelled the score on 49 minutes, but Krkotic netted again in the 70th minute to seal Dacia's away victory.
“Sheriff's not going through the best of times and we knew we could win. It wasn't easy, but the thought of the first victory against Sheriff didn't let us sleep. I thank all those who support us”, Dacia coach Dejan Vukicevic said during the post-match press conference. “I can't blame my players. The coach is responsible for the result. We must analyze the situation now”, Sheriff gaffer Veaceslav Rusnac told the press.
The other results of matchday 3 are: Milsami - Costuleni 3-0, Dinamo-Auto - Saxan 0-3, Zaria - FC Tiraspol 0-1 and Zimbru - Veris 1-0. Dacia top the table with 7 points, trailed by Zimbru, FC Tiraspol and Veris with just one point behind.
