Dacia beat current champion Milsami 1-0 on September 16 and became thus the new National Division leader. Ukrainian halfback Maxim Gavrilenko scored the only goal in the 49th minute, with a superb kick from outside the pitch, IPN reports.
Dacia has 18 points, by two more than Sheriff and Zimbru. “We took revenge on Milsami for the failure in the last stage of the previous season. We deserve to lead in the championship,” Dacia coach Veaceslav Semionov told a news conference.
“This match shouldn’t have been planned this day because a number of our players performed for the national team and were thus tired,” said the coach of Milsami Iurie Osipenco.
Milsami remained on the sixth place with only nine points. On September 19, Dacia plays the return game against Speranta, while Milsami goes to meet Dinamo-Auto.
