A mobile team of the Customs Service on duty was hit by two car driven by persons who supposedly form part of a group that smuggled consumer goods through the Transnistrian region, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Customs Service says the car involved in the transportation of contraband goods was noticed by inspectors of the mobile teams on a bypassing road near the internal checkpoint “Harbovat”. The customs employees tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver hit laterally the vehicle of the customs inspectors and continued its way.

Afterward, at the entrance to Sangera, a vehicle of the same make appeared and barred the customs vehicle in its attempt to overtake the first car. When the customs inspectors managed to overtake the second car, the driver of this turned suddenly to the left, projecting their vehicle onto the sidewalk.

The driver of the car that allegedly transported contraband was put on the wanted list, while the driver of the other car, which prevented the customs inspectors from following the first car, is investigated outside jail.
