Customs officers discovered a package with munitions in a minibus from Turkey

A gun of the trademark „Blow Compact model 2002”, caliber 9 mm, with magazine and 44 bullets with metal balls of caliber 9 mm and a gun trademark „Blow Mini model 2003, caliber 8 mm, with magazine and 45 bullets with metal balls of caliber 8 mm were discovered by the Moldovan customs officers in a package from Turkey, transported by a „Mercedes 711 D” with UTA Gagauzia registration plates.
According to the head of the Press and PR Service of the Customs Service of RM, Ion Magu, the guns were found at the Moldovan-Romanian cross-border „Giurgiulesti-Galati” in the packages of the car coming from Turkey. The sender took care to camouflage the guns in order not to be identified with the special equipment. The package represented a cardboard box covered with tinfoil paper, put in a bag and glued. The guns were covered in a cotton t-shirt and towel.
The guns and munitions were taken into custody and person was arrested, suspected of illegal gun trafficking.
The Penal investigation and customs frauds dept. of the Customs Office of Giurgiulesti discovered, since the beginning of the year, 30 offences, the most serious being 6 cases of transported non-accompanied luggage, especially from Turkey, of guns.
