During two months, the employees of the Customs Service will be accredited in a move to increase their professionalism and the level of integrity, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Customs Service.

Under the regulations, the accreditation of customs employees, except for those who form part of the supreme command, takes place once in two years or at least once in four years. Representatives of the Service said the accreditation procedure hasn’t been performed for a long period of time. About 24% of the employees have never been accredited, while 49% were accredited only once, when they were hired.

In this connection, the Customs Service’s director general Vitalie Vrabie reiterated the necessity of organizing accreditation, which is imposed by the current legislation and which is to take place regularly. He asked the members of the accreditation commission to ensure the correctness and objectivity of the initiated process so that only those who meet the requirements remain to work.

The final decisions of the accreditation commission will be adopted after examining the eligibility criteria and compatibility with the post held, behavior at work and performance in an interview.
