As from today, November 17, the young people aged 18 who possess a digital signature will receive a culture voucher to the value of 1,000 lei. The voucher can be used to purchase cultural products and services, such as tickets to theater plays, concerts and films. The digital signature can be obtained from telecoms carriers on the presentation of the identity card, IPN reports.
Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan, in the launch of the national program “Culture Voucher”, said that to get the voucher, the young people need to show interest in culturalizartion. The young people who turned 18 need to be active and to register a mobile signature. At the moment, 45,000 young people are entitled to a culture voucher, but only about 50 persons have a digital signature and can receive it. The goal of the program is to attract the young people to cultural places where they will benefit from a high-quality product.
Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization Iurie Țurcanu noted that all they payments as part of this program are made through the government e-payment gateway MPay that is managed by the e-Governance Agency. “The young people aged 18 who obtained a digital signature become part of the payment system and 1,000 lei is automatically transferred to their accounts. This sum can be later used for different cultural services. By accessing the citizen’s Governmental Portal - the platform on which we see our activity in relation to the state – we can follow all the transactions we perform through the culture voucher, besides other information,” stated the official.
The functioning mechanism of the national program “Culture Voucher” was designed by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the e-Governance Agency, which is responsible for the integration of the program into Mpay.
