Culture Ministry intends to restore three historical buildings in Chisinau

The Culture Ministry aims to launch a project to restore three important historical buildings in Chisinau, including the National Philharmonic, the Museum of Arts and a block of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts,. Minister Boris Focsa said in a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The minister said the feasibility studies are close to completion and the projects will be submitted to the Council of Europe within two weeks. “We hope to begin the restoration works this year,” said Boris Focsa. A meeting will soon take place with the rector of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts and the directors of the Museum of Arts and the National Philharmonic to discuss the projects. As to the costs, Boris Focsa said they are high as the buildings are in a bad state of repair. “The approximate costs are indicated in the feasibility studies, but we need the final project in order to determine the final costs,” he stated.
