Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan paid an official visit to Greece, where he spoke with his Greek counterpart Lina Mendoni about strengthening cultural cooperation, IPN reports.
One of the main topics was the possibility of signing a memorandum of cooperation, focused on the exchange of experience in the restoration of cultural heritage. A first step could be taken in September, when experts from Moldova are to take part in an international forum on the restoration of historical monuments.
The minister also met with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora in Athens, where he discussed maintaining cultural ties with the native country. The most active members of the community were awarded for their efforts in promoting national values.
According to the authorities, this visit reflects the Republic of Moldova’s commitment to develop international cultural relations and support the citizens abroad.
