On Moldova’s Independence Day on August 27, the schedule of cultural events will be shorter than in other years due to epidemiological restrictions. People attending the stands for parade guests will have to present either a vaccination certificate against COVID-19 or a negative test or proof that they have already been through the disease, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said today at a press conference.
Events in central Chisinau won't last long after noon, after which the festivites will air on TV. Sergiu Prodan urged people, including those who have been vaccinated, to continue to wear protective masks. Those who have not yet had their coronavirus vaccine administered should go and get it.
Health Minister Ala Nemerenco said that all participants in the military parade set for August 27 are vaccinated against COVID-19. The minister advised organizers of cultural events in other places to avoid holding concerts at night, as during this period people are less compliant with anti-COVID-19 protection measures.
Ala Nemerenco added that in order to keep the epidemiological situation under control, traditional festivities won't be held in schoolyards on September 1. Students will go straight to their classrooms.
