In January, the National Palace will host two performances. The musical-choreographic show dedicated to Christmas “Leru-i Ler” will start at 18.00 on January 6, while the café-concert “On Saint John” will be given on January 20. The ensemble of accordion players “Concertino” headed by Eugen Negruta will perform at the Organ Hall on January 4. The duo-pianists Anatol Lapicus and Iurie Mahovici will give a concert to celebrate 15 years of activity on January 10. “A Vivaldi Night” concert by the National Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Choir, headed by Ilona Stepan and conducted by Didier Talpain from France, will be held on January 17. It was organised in cooperation with the French Alliance in Moldova. Valeria Balahovskaia from Kiev will give an organ performance on January 24. The traditional concert dedicated to W. A. Mozart titled “Children Sing Mozart” will be held on January 27, while on December 31, the soloists Mariana and Viorica Rotaru will give a violin and piano performance. All the performances at the Organ Hall will start at 18.00. Gala concerts by graduates and students of the National Choreography College will be held at the National Opera House on January 2 and 3, starting at 14.00. The band “Millenium” invites the public to the concert “Carols, Carols” that will start at 18.00 on January 4 and 5. The orchestra of the National Opera House will give a concert titled “Королевский тур” on January 11 and 12, starting at 18.00. The National Philharmonic “Serghei Lunchevici” will host entertainment concerts for children on January 2 and 6, starting at 11.00. A performance of carols will start at the Academic Choir Chapel “Doina” at 16.00 on January 4. A recreational concert for children “Fairy Scene of Music” will begin at 17.00 on January 10. A symphonic concert will start at the same hour on January 11. Matinees and performances for children will be given at the National Puppet Theatre “Licurici” between January 2 and 14, starting at 12.00. The play “The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum will be performed at the National Theatre “Luceafărul” on January 2-6, starting at 17.00. New Year concerts and matinees for children will be given between January 2 and 14, starting at10.00, 12.00 and 14.00. The performance “Nightingale” by Hans Christian Andersen, directed by Vitalie Drucec, will be given at “Eugene Ionesco” Theatre on January 2, 3, 10 and 11, at 11.00 and 15.00, while the performance “Chirita in the Countryside” by Vasile Alecsandri, directed by Petru Vutcarau, will be held on January 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12, at 18.00. The play “Rome and Juliet” by W. Shakespeare will be put on in the Big Hall of the National Theatre “Mihai Eminescu” on January 10, 11, 19 and 20, starting at 18.00. The performance “A Midsummer Night's Dream” by W. Shakespeare will be given on January 13 and 18, at 18.00. The performance ‘Last Hour” by M. Sebastian is scheduled to start at 18.00 on January 17. Actors of National Theatre “M. Eminescu” will perform the play “In Snake Skin” by T. Williams on January 24 and 25 and the play “The Doctor in Spite of Himself” by Moliere on January 26. A production of “South Pole” by M. Karge will be staged on January 27. The last performance, “Uncle Vanea” by A.P.Cehov, will be given on January 31, starting at 18.00.
