The Government approved the draft Law on the Strategy for Developing Culture until 2020 – Culture 2020. The cultural heritage becomes a national priority. In order to ensure the quality of artistic education, the artistic education institutions will be restructured by aligning them to the standards recommended by UNESCO. The system for preparing staff in the field will be reformed. There will be also set up continuous formation centers. Special public policies will be formulated to develop the visual arts and literature.
A culture informatization program will be worked out in order to create a virtual network of cultural facilities. There will be created a national portal for promoting artists and cultural products so as to improve the population’s access to such products.
Minister of Culture Monica Babuc said the strategy will be implemented at a cost of 1.7 billion lei. The costs will be covered with budget allocations trough technical assistance projects and programs, grants, public-private partnership projects, and other legal sources.
