A group of 23 Moldovans from the diaspora, called Cultural Diaspora, donated €2,000 for the initiative of Moldo Crescendo “Bach la Casa de Cultura” (“Bach at the Home of Culture”). According to Victoria Nagy Vajda, a Moldovan woman who settled in Luxemburg, the donors include a Facebook group of friends from France, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Luxemburg, the UK, Romania and the U.S. who aim to support artists and cultural projects in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
“We think this festival is very important because it takes place in different settlements of Moldova, where the people do not enjoy many cultural events and this could be their first meeting with classical music listened at the home of culture in their village or town. Besides, we support the musicians from Moldo Crescendo because many of them are from the diaspora, as we are,” it is said in a press release of Moldo Crescendo.
Between 21 July and August 2, the project Moldo Crescendo aims to stage free cultural events with classical music, artistic photo and video products and a performance by actress Lia Sinkevich in nine homes of culture in the Republic of Moldova. The events will form part of the third edition of the Moldo Crescendo Festival and will be held in Ialoveni, Mereni, Calarasi, Cimislia, Ceadar-Lunga, Hancesti, Rezina, Bahrinesti and Chisinau.
The project is implemented with the support of the general public through a crowdfunding campaign on Guvern 24. The project Moldo Crescendo was started by young musicians from Moldova, who studied at Music Universities in Switzerland, Belgium, Romania, Italy, the UK, Finland, Germany, and Russia.
In 2016, Moldo Crescendo performed for the first time outside Chisinau, at the Mimi Castle in Bulboaca and at the Ciolak-Malski mansion in Bahmut. The project “Moldo Crescendo Conace” was 30% funded through crowdfunding.
