Crowdedness was reported at a number of polling stations abroad at about 10am, primarily at those in Germany and Italy, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said there were lines of over 100 people, with reduced access to the polls, at the polling stations in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Parma, Mestre, and Milan.
There is medium access availability, with lines of 50 to 100 people, at the polling stations in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges and Brussels.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the authorities call on the diaspora to strictly obey the norms of conduct in the countries of origin and to follow the updated information on embassies’ websites.
A number of 2,143 polling stations were established for the November 1 presidential elections. Of these, 139 are out-of country polling stations.
