Businessmen from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine can design cooperation projects in such areas as agriculture, tourism, transport and consultancy. Moreover, by joining forces, the Moldovan and Ukrainian entrepreneurs can penetrate the EU market and can offer the products and services that the European consumers need. In order to identify new projects and partners, Business Consulting Institute staged a Crossborder Forum of Entrepreneurs in Chisinau, IPN reports.
Vitalii Galaciuc, the representative of the Ukrainian Association for Economic Development of Kolomyia, said he came to the forum accompanied by entrepreneurs from Ukraine to present their products that can hold interest for Moldovan businessmen and to establish new cooperation relations. “Ukraine and Moldova are at the development stage. It’s wrong to think that the EU is waiting for us with its hands open. We must join efforts in order to overcome all the obstacles and to enter the EU market. We know what the EU businessmen expect from us and are making effort to ensure cooperation between the businessmen from our states so as to implement successful projects,” he stated.
Cristina Nastasa, economist at the Fast Training Consulting, said a primary analysis was made in transport, agriculture, tourism and consultancy to find out the readiness to cooperate of the businessmen from Romania and Moldova. It was established that there is interest, but the businessmen face such barriers as the lack of information. “We recommend information activities, organization of firm presentations and joint activities to better know the businessmen from Moldova and Romania so as to establish partnerships with them. In general, the Moldovan and Romanian businessmen cooperate more in the area of technology. In Romania, this area is more developed, but the Romanian businesspeople consider that the production costs in Moldova are lower and would like to invest in production and then to export the products,” stated the economist.
Valeriu Damaschin, businessman and expert in energy efficiency, came to the forum to identity partners for implementing renewable energy projects. He said he wants to set up a project to build greenhouses on underground passages so as to have fresh vegetables all year round. The experience of the Romanian colleagues in this respect is valuable. The given projects are not very costly. But technology is needed and Moldova does not yet have experience.
Alexandra Can, who heads the Light Industry Employers, said the crossborder cooperation is an important subject. She believes that the Crossborder Forum of Entrepreneurs will contribute to extending the cooperation between the businessmen from Moldova and the neighboring countries. According to her, in Moldova there are many companies that can cooperate with foreign firms.
The project “Competitiveness enhancement through human
synergy in the border region” is supported financially by the European Commission through the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument, within the Joint Operational Program Romania - Ukraine – Republic of Moldova 2007-2013. It is implemented by the Business Consulting Institute in partnership with the Regional Entrepreneurs Association North-East Romania, the Iasi Dialog for Development Association and the Association for Economic Development of Kolomyia.
