The Criuleni Health Center has been outfitted with modern medical equipment with Japanese funds. The handover ceremony will be held on May 18. According to the Embassy of Japan in Moldova, the value of the grant provided by the Japanese Government is of over US$61,000, IPN reports.
The project to modernize the medical equipment was implemented within the Human Security Projects of the Grassroots Program “Kusanone” that was launched in 2015. There was purchased ultrasound and electrocardiogram machines, biochemistry analyzer, semiautomatic coagulator, thermostat, lab centrifuge, hematology analyzer and other devices. These will facilitate the Criuleni district inhabitants’ access to medical lab analyses and treatment services.
The Center’s ultrasound and electrocardiogram machines were very old and could not be used to serve all the patients in need of such examinations. In 2013, more than 1,000 persons from the 6,000 who needed ultrasound had to travel to Chisinau for scans. The same year, only half of the 23,000 people who needed electrocardiogram tests were served by the Criuleni Health Center.
