The criminal group “Shor” continues the campaign to recruit citizens as volunteers in Evrazia organization. In this regard, a series of groups were created on Telegram, where people are lured with money to become a “volunteer” within the organization created by people close to the fugitive convict Ilan Shor, IPN reports, with reference to Deschide.MD.

Such a case was recently reported in Sângerei district, where dozens of people were recruited, being obliged to provide copies of identity cards and confirm their identity by sending a 5-10 second video-selfie. In order to benefit from the money, those recruited are to invite five other people to the group. Various political topics are discussed in the group, including competitions. Among the most recent is a contest for the “best” jokes about the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu (in fact, a smear campaign), and the winners will receive a mobile phone.

However, some of those lured refused to be part of that group, noting that they are afraid that those who collected the personal data will use these to take out loans or commit other crimes.

Deschide.MD also said that the noncommercial organization Evrazia was founded in Moscow in April 2024 by a former accountant of the liquidated Shor Party, Nelli Parutenko.

A month ago, the police announced searches at so-called “Shor volunteers”. These are involved in a criminal case concerning illegal large-scale financing of political parties, initiative groups and election contestants and also considerable money laundering committed by an organized criminal group.
