The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) took over the criminal case started over the killing of a teenage boy in a car accident in Bolduresti. The mayor of the village is the main suspect. He left the scene of the accident, but was later identified and detained, IPN reports.
The teenager who was fatally injured on Monday night was 14 years old. The driver tried to avoid criminal responsibility by staging another car accident involving the damaged car. The 47-year-old man was taken into custody on Wednesday. Previously, he held the post of head of the Nisporeni Police Inspectorate.
On the same day, the person who tried to help the suspect evade punishment by changing the license plate of the car involved in the accident was also detained. This works as a dentist.
