Until a credible functionary or politician who would assume responsibility and will coordinate the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict is not named to deal with this issue, the problem on the Nistru will not be solved, stated experts invited to the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.
“We need a person who would be accepted by the Transnistrian region and who would not be perceived as an enemy. We need a person who would deal with the reunification, not with struggles,” stated security expert Valeriu Ostalep.
According to him, current Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan does not enjoy authority in his post. “We have no other more serious issue than the Transnistrian dispute,” said Valeriu Ostalep.
Politologist Vitalie Andrievski said that a special committee for Moldova’s reunification should be constituted by Parliament decision. This should be empowered to consider a status for the Transnistrian region and to work out a roadmap for the reintegration process.
