A taxi driver who did not fasten the seatbelt thwarted the plans of his passenger who was going to the market to sell beef from a stolen cow. Aurelia Mija, PR inspector of the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that the traffic police stopped the taxi because the driver had the safety belt unbuckled. It was established that the driver’s license has been suspended because he did not pay the fines imposed on him earlier. Later, the police discovered beef on the back seat of the car, covered with polyethylene. The passenger did not have documents of origin for the meat. The 23-year-old man from Razeni village of Ialoveni district admitted that he stole the cow, butchered it and intended to sell the beef on the market. The passenger and the driver aged 24 know each other. The police are to determine if the latter was also involved in the theft.
