The vaccination campaign in Chisinau goes on. Several types of vaccines are available, but many of the persons who schedule an appointment to get vaccinated do not show up. In the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said there are now over 600,000 available vaccine doses and the figure by June is expected to rise to 1 million doses, IPN reports.
The municipality said that the launch of the third vaccination stage is to be announced and everyone will be able to get a vaccine at the Municipal Vaccination Center. Those who want to get vaccinated should contact the family doctor. Ion Ceban warned that vaccination is a priority and any type of vaccine protects from infection or from a serious form of the disease in the future.
“Before the holidays, the vaccination rate decreased and I hope that many of the people decided to get a vaccine after the holidays. No matter what arguments they have, the people should get a vaccine. Currently, the supply is much larger than the demand,” stated the mayor.
Of the 359 patients with COVID-19 who are now in the hospitals of the municipality of Chisinau, 37 are in a very serious state, while 178 are in a serious state. The capital city is under red alert and in a state of public health emergency.
