Differentiated COVID-19 protection measures, depending on the alert level issued in each locality according to the incidence rate, will be applied again in the Republic of Moldova as from February 16, as the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

This way, the general rule to present the COVID-19 certificate when entering commercial or service areas will no longer be applied. This will be necessary depending on the alert level for such specific locations as public eating places, places hosting private or sports events, institutions of culture or scientific meetings.

The Commission’s January 20, 2022 decision to allow access to public health facilities and placement institutions to children and persons accompanying children younger than 14 and to persons looking after persons with accentuated and serve disabilities remains in force.

Under green and yellow alert levels, it will be permitted to return to the normal work regime, while the measures concerning remote work and differentiated work programs will be maintained under orange and red alert levels.

Under the red alert level, the technical vocational and higher education institutions will work online, except for practicals that imply the use of technical equipment/laboratories, but not more than 10% of the teaching activities per program of study. Given the particularities of the area, “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy will work according to a mixed regime.

The ban on holding private events, such as weddings, christening ceremonies, commemoration and festive meals, will be imposed only under red alert. The activities in recreational areas and amusement parks and scientific conferences with physical attendance will not be permitted under red alert.

Instead, the public eating places will be able to return to the normal work regime by admitting a particular number of persons, regardless of the alert level.

The local extraordinary public health commissions, within 24 hours of the coming into force of the decision of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission, will come together to decide public health measures for each locality of the managed territorial-administrative unit, in accordance with the alert level set by the National Public Health Commission on February 14, 2022.
