COVID-19 claims 11 more lives in Moldova

The death toll from COVID-19 in Moldova rose to 444 after the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection on June 18 reported 11 new deaths. There were also confirmed 374 new cases of COVID-19, with the total number increasing to 13,106, IPN reports.

The 374 new cases were confirmed after doing 1,769 tests, 1,337 of which were primary ones. About 79,700 tests for COVID-19 have been performed so far.

Of those diagnosed with the virus today, 26 are healthcare workers. The total number of infected healthcare employees now stands at 2,066.

Secretary of state Konstantin Rymish said the number of infected patients who are in a serious state remains high. There are 444 such patients and 27 of them were put on a ventilator.

According to the updated reports, the epidemiological situation at the placement center for adults with disabilities of Balti municipality has worsened. Fifty samples have been collected there so far. The suspected persons were isolated and disinfection measures were taken at the center that has 428 beneficiaries.

The number of persons infected with the novel coronavirus in Moldova so far totals 13,106. The number of infected persons who got cured by now stands at 7,252.
