Court rules of favor of Termocom again

The Chisinau Court of Appeal annulled the decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) of 14 April 2008 approving of the 456-lei charge for the heating delivered during the 2007–2008 season, on Friday. In these conditions, the Chisinau residents may pay more for heating, including for the one delivered last winter, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the PR unit of the Chisinau City Hall. According to the communique, the court accepted Termocom's claims, without taking into account the lawyers of the local authority. The release says the municipality's representatives brought evidence to prove that the charge was a real one and covers the expenses to produce and ship the heat, and the decision was approved of legally. Commenting the writ, vice mayor Mihai Furtuna says the move is part of a scenario plotted by SA Termocom jointly with the central authorities and is aimed at discrediting the municipal public authorities. Mihai Furtuna says the heat supplier thus tries to get hold of 71 million lei more from the municipal budget, because of the difference of 540 lei and 456 lei per Gcal. The CMC representative has said they will sue the writ in the Supreme Court of Justice.
