The Ialoveni Court ordered to take down the tents pitched by protesters in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau by August 28, 2016.
One of the leaders of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” Chiril Motpan considers the court decision is illegal because it was passed in the absence of representatives of the Platform and of lawyers. “The procedure was violated,” Chiril Motpan stated for IPN.
According to him, the people have the right to protest in a particular way and a decision whether to stay or leave the central square of Chisinau will be taken by members of the Civic Platform and of the Great National Assembly Council the coming days. The court decision will be appealed to a higher court.
Spokesman for the Chisinau City Hall Vadim Branzaniuc said the City Hall is waiting for the motivated court decision and does not know the exact deadline by which the tents must be taken away.
