Moldova needs a country project to resolve the Transnistrian conflict. Such a project couldn’t have been designed during the last 25 years because the managers of law enforcement agencies were named by Moscow. Such statements were made in the talk show “People’s Council” on 10TV channel, IPN reports.
Gennady Cosovan, president of the Association “Faith to the Homeland”, said the last steps taken by the Moldovan authorities make him believe that a country project appeared. “I want these measures not to be episodic and I do not want an attack to be staged on us, those who promote these ideas,” he stated.
Ex-member of the Joint Control Commission Ion Leahu said the Russian Federation is not interested in separating the Transnistrian region from the Republic of Moldova. Moldova, as the other ex-Soviet states, is in the area of strategic interest of Russia. “Putin does not imagine conceding at least a patch of the Republic of Moldova,” stated Ion Leahu.
