Council of Europe to familiarise Moldovan policemen with European police experience and deontology

The Council of Europe will offer consultancy assistance to the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs as regards the implementation of European practices in the field of police deontology. This fact was agreed at the meeting of the leadership of MIA with the delegation of the General Secretariat of the Council of Europe (GSCE), which is visiting Moldova, Info-Prim Neo informs.
At the meeting were summarized all the actions undertaken within the frameworks of the Joint Plan of trilateral cooperation with the European Commission and the Council of Europe for the support of democratic reforms during 2004-2006. Also, a closer attention was drawn to the methods of preparing the policemen.
Among the participants in the meeting were Jean-Louis Laurents, general director of Political Affairs of the organization, Daniil Khochabo, chief of Division II (CIS and North-Eastern European countries), Olena Petsun, counsellor for Moldova and Russia, Vladimir Ristovschi, special representative of the GS of CoE in Chisinau, representatives of MFAEI and experts in the fields of communication, international relations and human resources.
The European forum offered support and assistance to MIA in Chisinau as concerns the expertise and publishing of the Code of Police Ethics and Deontology.
