The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland will pay an official two-day visit to Chisinau on May 30 and 31, at the invitation of Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
The program of the visit includes meetings with President Igor Dodon, Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, Moldova’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Prime Minister Pavel Filip and other officials, IPN reports.
Thorbjorn Jagland will give a public lecture on the challenges and threats to democratic security at the State University. The Council of Europe’s plan of action for the Republic of Moldova for 2017–2020 was adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council on February 1, 2017 and aims to support the implementation of priority reforms in the Republic of Moldova.
