The costs incurred for ensuring state guard for the candidate for Prime Minister Natalia Gavilița cannot be made public as this information represents a state secret.

In a response to an inquiry made by IPN, the State Guard and Protection Service said Natalia Gavrilița had benefited from state guard since she was designed as a candidate for Prime Minister by a presidential decree up to the moment the Constitutional Court passed its judgment by which the decree to nominate the same candidate again was declared unconstitutional.

“As to the incurred costs, we inform you that this information falls under Law No. 245 of 2008 concerning the state secret and cannot be made public,” noted the Service.

The State Guard and Protection Service ordered to ensure protection as from January 27. The range of ordered measures included the guarding of the home and car.

On February 11, the candidate for Prime Minster didn’t garner any vote in Parliament, the first attempt to vote in the Government failing this way. The same day, President Maia Sandu nominated again Natalia Gavrilița as Prime Minister, the decree being declared unconstitutional on February 23.
