The cost of individual prostheses and consumables needed for the surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation of particular categories of patients will be covered with money from the mandatory health insurance fund, as a bill that was given a final reading by Parliament provides, IPN reports.
The bill was proposed by the Ministry of Health. The goal is to cover the costs from the mandatory health insurance funds for the individual prostheses and consumables needed for the surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with head, neck, locomotor system diseases and of patients with anophthalmia, partial or full defect of the eyeball.
The bill provides for the exclusion of the legal norms stipulating that the Ministry of Health manages primary medical assistance. According to the authors, this is important also because the primary medical assistance institutions are founded by the local public authorities.
