Cost of homes for flood victims to be announced in two days

Three ways of solving the housing problems of the flood victims are being considered. The authorities have to choose between buying, building and offering subsidies for new homes. The cost of building a house is to be announced in two days, the Government said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The central authorities say that concurrently with land exploration for construction suitability, several pilot projects are being considered for building new homes. For the families whose houses require just fixing, relevant estimations will be done to enable dispensation of construction materials from the government reserves. After floodwaters retreat, within five days, task forces will estimated the damages brought to the settlements along the Nistru and the Prut. The release says that by August 15 experts will determine the sites of the houses to be built. According to preliminary data, a total of 401 houses were flooded throughout the country, 228 of which collapsed. The worst hit communities are in the districts of Briceni, where 263 homes were flooded, 222 of which collapsed.
