The Government extended the deadline for implementing the corruption risk assessment methodology until 2011, Info-Prim Neo reports. The methodology came into force in August 2008 and was to be implemented by the public authorities in 2009. However, for objective (involvement in the election campaign) and subjective reasons, it was not implemented. On the other hand, the process of self-assessing corruption risks is of a long term as it requires taking gradual and consecutive measures. This process in the courts of law was supported by the Council of Europe and lasted for two years. New entities appeared in the present Government, while other institutions were reorganized. The Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime promised to offer them consultative support in implementing the methodology given that the process of self-assessing corruption risks is of major importance in combating corruption.
